The one-sentence version
Your report contents never leave your browser; the only personal data we hold is what it takes to sell you a license.
Your report files: never transmitted
The Amazon Ads and KDP report files you open in AuthorTally are parsed and analyzed entirely on your device. They are not uploaded, logged, cached server-side, or visible to us in any form. We run no analytics or error-reporting that can capture file contents. If you contact support, you can choose to generate an anonymized debug report (structure and counts only — no titles, no revenue figures); nothing is sent unless you send it.
What we do hold, and why
- Email address — to deliver your license key and service notices.
- License key and activation records — to validate your license. Activation requests reach our server and include your key and standard connection metadata (IP address, timestamp).
- Payment records — payments are processed by Stripe; we see receipt data (amount, last4, email) but never your full card number. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Web server logs — standard, short-retention infrastructure logs from our hosting provider (Cloudflare).
- Page-view counts — we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit which pages. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint you, does not follow you to other websites, and cannot see anything inside the tool — it records that a page was viewed, not what you did on it. Your report files are never part of it.
What we don't do
- No connection to your Amazon account, ever — we never ask for credentials or cookies.
- No sale or sharing of your data with anyone, except the processors named above.
- No advertising trackers, and no analytics that can see your report data.
Your choices
Email support@authortally.com to access or delete the data we hold about you (we'll retain the minimum required for tax and fraud-prevention records).
